about frater peverin

Frater Peverin is the Provincial Director of Studies (Ontario) for Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA) in Toronto, Canada and a lifelong student of Hermeticism and Lurianic Kabbalah. He is also knowledgeable in the practice of traditional horary and electional astrology and the crafting of talismans. In addition to his interest in western magical traditions, Frater Peverin is also an initiate of the West African spiritual tradition of Ifa and works in close collaboration with Consejo Cultural Yoruba de Canada on the study and practice of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe, and the restoration of indigenous wisdom more broadly.

Frater Peverin finds inspiration from traditional grimoires such as the Picatrix, as well as the primary texts of Kabbalah such as Sefer Yetzirah, Zohar and Sefer Ha-Bahir. He also studies the work of Zacuto, Gikatilla, Chaim Vital and the ecstatic practices of Abraham Abulafia.

His Hermetic interests are principally based on primary texts such as the Corpus Hermeticum, the Definitions of Hermes Trismegistus to Asclepius and the manuscripts of the Technical Hermetica such as Papyri Graecae Magicae.  His theurgical interests are concerned with Neoplatonists such as Iamblichus, Proclus and Pseudo-Dionysius, whose ideas influenced the theories and practices of early Jewish Kabbalah.
